NAME/FANDOM: Alastair; Supernatural
BRIEF PROFILE: A high ranking demon, effectively the high inquisitor and "executioner" of Hell, Alastair oversees and administers eternal torment in Hell and is responsible for the 'special' cases where important information extraction is required. Not only is it his 'job', it is his passion – his art with the tools of his trade – and he is a cruel and disturbingly creative bastard in doling out torture. His true age is unknown, but he has referred to angels billions of years old as 'kiddo' and displays a impressive amount of power and resistance to other's power.

Alastair favors Hell and his position in Hell over being on Earth, which was why the last time he was above was Poland, during World War II, where the Nazis and the internment camps were basically a demon's playground. He came above again in search of a girl named Anna Milton, who could hear angels talking and was later revealed to be an angel wanted by the army of God for falling from the Heavens, presumably under orders to be executed. Though Alastair narrowed in on her location once, after following the Winchesters straight to her, he was unable to get to her, as Ruby helped her escape while he fought the Winchesters. Sam and Dean lost Ruby's knife to him but escaped with their lives.

Later, Ruby met with him under the guise of handing over Anna to him if he let her the the Winchesters go free. Rather than make such a deal, he had the demons with him restrain her and then tortured her for the information. She eventually caved and told him she would give him Anna, but that it meant she would show him the location, not tell him. When Alastair, Ruby and his demons arrived, the angels of God, Castiel and Uriel, were already there attempting to collect Anna. Heaven and Hell fought each other, with the Winchesters thrown in the mix, Alastair nearly killing Castiel, Dean and Sam until Anna stole back her Grace from Uriel. Just after Anna broke the container holding her Grace and absorbed it, but before she turned back into an angel, Alastair found himself in Los Angeles. → [extended information on Alastair, his in-game aliases and his plot calendar]
ABILITY NOTES: Typical weapons meant to kill demons, such as Ruby's demon knife, have little affect on Alastair beyond marginal host discomfort. Sam's abilities, which proved effective on many other demons in the past, have little to no affect on Alastair at all, and – unlike with Lilith – Sam is not immune in the reverse, meaning Alastair has been able to get Sam out of his way with a relatively small expenditure of his own power. Angel abilities, such as the ability to put to sleep or turn to dust (smite) have also been proven ineffective on him and Alastair demonstrates the ability to throw around angels just as easily as humans, as well as likely inflict death on angels if not stopped.
MYTHOLOGY: In Christian demonology, Alastor is the chief executioner and torturer for the monarch of Hell. He is an exceptionally cruel demon. The name 'Alastor' became a common place term in reference to evil spirits or foul tempered individuals. He is also featured and mentioned throughout Greek literature and mythology.
